Choose from 45-90 minute sessions for your classroom, or invite Noa for a multi-session residency at your school.

Residencies allow teachers to integrate ideas from Noa’s sessions into their curriculum. She provides activities and tools that teachers can use on their own to enhance classroom learning.

Workshops stand alone, or can complement storytelling presentations

Cindy Finley and Louise Zabriskie, Teachers, Patwin Elementary, Davis, CA
It was inspiring to watch Noa’s mastery of group dynamics - her ability to inspire the shiest child and at the same time create positive boundaries for the high energy boys. Not only did the students benefit from their participation in these activities, but we came away with a wealth of new ideas for our classrooms!

Becoming a Storyteller (Grade 4 - 12)

Students will enjoy an interactive discussion with hands-on activities demonstrating how to tell a story—a great complement to storytelling performances.

The Writing Connection (Grade K - 5)

Use storytelling tools to develop and promote writing skills. Students will develop stronger connections between oral communication and writing.

Tell and Play (Grade Pre K - 5)

A story is presented, and then followed by creative drama activities that will excite and involve the entire class as they deepen and expand their experience of the story.

Telling Our Stories (Grade 4 - 12)

Use storytelling as a tool for community building in your classroom by:

  • Giving voice to students' diversity
  • Encouraging tolerance and respect
  • Teaching communication skills that emphasize listening.

I liked the time with Noa because I got to do things that I never did before, like dance in the middle of the circle. It was challenging to talk and do things in a big group.

Residency programs can include:

  • A teacher planning meeting with Noa

The Art of Storytelling

Mary Dezinno, Howard County Arts Council, Head Start programs, MD
Noa's residency was a huge success! It was obvious that the students walked away with many new skills... this residency allowed the students to express themselves and use their imagination in so many ways! They actively looked forward to their sessions together and could not wait to see Ms. Noa! Thank you for all your hard work!

Students learn by working individually, in pairs, and in groups as Noa guides them to:

  • Tell a story without memorization
  • Learn story structure
  • Develop the plot
  • Listen to others
  • Use basic presentation techniques

Interdisciplinary Storytelling Unit

Creative drama forms the basis of Noa’s interdisciplinary story residency that emphasizes learning, teamwork and cooperation. Students explore a story through various activities including:
